West Pangani is an alternative hip-hop group currently based in Nairobi Kenya.
The music group which was previously based in Baltimore is currently riding high thanks to their latest hit ‘Still Had You’ which has over 80,000 streams on paid platforms.
Speaking to SDE, one the budding group’s member Mandwic traced his passion for music to high school.
According to the musician, he used to freestyle in school and the support he received fostered the belief that he’s talented.
“In 2018, I lost my father and sought an avenue to vent my feeling and I automatically turned to music. Alongside my cousin Danny who was also going through turbulent times, we started recording music,” he said.
Danny, a vocal specialist brought on board his skills but the two still felt like a key component was missing. They were joined by Allan, a friend who also passionate about music to create West Pangani.
