Kenya on Friday, March 13 confirmed its first case of coronavirus, days after the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the outbreak a global pandemic.

Making the announcement, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe revealed that the patient, a 27-year-old Kenyan woman who travelled from Ohio, USA via London and currently at Kenyatta National Hospital's Infectious Disease Unit, was stable.

"All religious crusades, gatherings, meetings interschool events and all events that of huge public nature have been suspended,” ordered Kagwe.
