A breakup is normally an uneasy situation that many dread to be in. There is no formula for going through it and overcoming it. Every situation is unique to every individual.
This is true for popular comedian Oliver Otieno better known as YY who has opened up on one nasty experience in 2018 that almost took him over the edge and, at the time, made him vow never to fall in love again.
“I opened my heart and fell in love again even though I vowed to never fall in love after going through a major heartbreak,” he shared the father of one on Instagram.
YY confessed that the heartbreak was so painful to a point he had to sleep over at Eddie Butita’s place and that it took him a month to finally deal with the broken heart.
“From the day it’s clear this is a breakup, I only need one month. Week 1 - Mourning and back forth. Week 2 - slowly detaching and cutting communication. Week 3 - accepting reality. Week 4 - here now I don’t want them back (I may love them so much but doesn’t mean I want them back),” he shared.
Things took a turn for the worse when he lost his child as he sunk into depression.
"I had a lot of expectations and I was so excited but the excitement was cut short in a manner I did not expect," he said.

He claimed that the facility she was admitted in was reluctant to attend to his girlfriend.
"We went to the labour ward but the doctors recommended she has a Caesarian section. I went to book [for one] but they said the theatre was full,"
The couple later parted ways and YY disclosed that he moved on, "Unfortunately, she is no longer in my life but I am dating again."
He added that he has learnt to be positive, despite the tragedy.
"Sometimes we question what happens but it may be a blessing or even could be a lesson that God wants us to learn from those particular situations. I took it as a lesson and although I endured the pain for a while, it made me a better person and I am now able to accept things as they come," he said.

Last week, YY broke down in tears on national TV while revealing how he put his mother Margaret Odhiambo through hell as a naughty, rebellious child.
He disclosed that he stole a tractor when he was just 12-years-old. Despite it all, his mother never gave up on him.
She reiterated that YY was never rude to her even though he was rebellious. A point highlighted by a teary YY who buttressed how his turning point came around after a lot of soul searching.
“I went to God now, I sort God so personally, nikaomba maombi ya Samson. Nikaambia God if I was once a bright student, then it means I might have just lost direction, give it to me one more time,” he tearfully explained.
