Mystery surrounds the circumstances and motive of the killing of a millionaire businessman on Friday night in Westlands.
Karandeep Singh Dhilon, 35, had a single gunshot wound in the mouth, with the bullet exiting at the back of his head when police found his body.
He operated wheat and transport businesses in Narok and Nairobi and is said to have been alone when the gunmen are believed to have struck.

Police believe his killers had been in his house long enough before he arrived home. His three dogs were found dead in the compound, poisoned. Dhilon’s family was away in India at the time of the murder. He had not married, neighbours said, and described him as a hardworking businessman.
Police and witnesses said the house was not broken in to. The backdoor was open and it seems they entered and exited through there.
“It seems the killers entered the house using the backdoor and stayed there for long before the deceased arrived home,” said Nairobi police boss Philip Ndolo.

Neighbours along OlDonyo Sabuk Road said they heard a commotion at about 1 am and thought it was normal.
His naked body was found in his bathroom. His valuables were intact in the house, an indication that the mission may have been solely to eliminate him.
“They did not steal anything from him,” said Ndolo.
