News
Sniper has been in the music industry for about a decade

Artistes are mourning the sudden death of veteran music producer Sniper. The CEO and executive producer at G’Ganji Records, a hip-hop recording company, died on Wednesday.

It is reported that a student hit the artiste with a blunt object following a disagreement. He was taken to the hospital on Tuesday evening and pronounced dead the following day.

Sniper has been in the music industry for about a decade and worked with artistes like King Kaka, Khaligraph, Eko Dydda, Xtatic, Kavyo KForce, and Jodala among others.

King Kaka celebrated the contribution the music producer imprinted in the hip-hop scene. He recalled receiving a call from Sniper informing him that he had a beat to his next hit song. He went to his studio in Rongai and Bangaiza was instantly born.

“I worked with Sniper in my genesis years. He had a different sound. When I did mixtapes and albums, I made sure that I had songs that he produced. I needed his sound,” said King Kaka.

He described the fallen artiste as a good friend and a jovial person.

“My constant memory of him was that we would always tell jokes when we met. He was always laughing. He had an infectious personality. He was a good guy. It is unfortunate that he died when he was young. He went back to school to further his education. It is sad,” he said.

Moroko, who had been unavailable on phone since Monday evening, posted on his social media that he was well, and told Pulse that what happened must have been a case of mistaken identity.

“I guess the guy was a look-alike,” he said, adding that he was busy selling his compilation album.
