When he said ‘respect the OGs’, he actually meant it! Kenyan Rapper and now Africa’s best Hip-hop artiste in the just concluded Soundcity MVP awards, Brian Ouko popularly known as Khaligraph Jones recently dominated the Nigerian trends after releasing a diss track directed at Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez.

The controversial rapper sent the internet into a frenzy after uploading the said diss track dubbed ‘Best Rapper in Nigeria’ produced by Motif Di Don. In the track that is gaining popularity by the day, the Micasa Sucasa hit maker tells off Blaqbonez for picking up beef with him.

“I’m the best rapper in Nigeria right now. They already crowned the king you should wait for the next season…….They told me not to diss you coz nobody knows you in your city, last time you trended you was in Abuja flashing titties…Don’t ever think you can F*** with Khaligraph Jones.” goes part of the lyrics.

Minutes after dropping the diss track, Khaligraph became a trending topic in Nigeria, with his name appearing at number 18 on their Twitter trends.

In the Tuesday diss track, Khaligraph also pointed out that Nigerian rappers used to be the best in Africa until they started chasing fame. However, he shouts out rappers Mode 9, Vector, M.I. Abaga and Ice Prince as some of the best rappers Nigeria has.

Blaq Bonez was the genesis of the tiff after he took to social media to discredit Papa Jones after his win at the Soundcity MVP awards.

“Somebody tell Khaligraph that I’m still the best rapper in Africa Sound City got it wrong. Diss track in the morning, you know what I mean,” tweeted Blaq Bonez.

The tweet angered a majority of Khaligraph supporters who forced Blaq Bonez to swallow his pride and apologize to Khaligraph.

“The Nigerian rap scene has just been colonized, Khaligraph Jones is the best rapper there, i am coming to get my citizenship. The OG shall be respected” wrote Papa Jones shortly after releasing the track.

Papa Jones was the only winner from East Africa in the just-concluded awards in Lagos, Nigeria. He beat the likes of Falz from Nigeria, South Africa’s Kwesta and Ghana’s Sarkodie to bag the prestigious ‘Best in Hiphop’ category award at the event that was held on January 11, 2020.
