Homa Bay Senator Moses Kajwang’, Ruaraka MP Tom Kajwang’, and Nakuru’s Kaptembwa MCA Peter Kajwang’ have lost a mother.
Dorcas Akumu Ajwang’ (pictured right), who was also mother to former Homa Bay Senator Otieno Kajwang' (deceased), died on Saturday while being treated for pneumonia at Avenue Hospital in Kisumu.
She was wife to David Ajwang’, a retired teacher.
Moses said she contracted pneumonia while being treated for blisters. She had stayed in hospital for over 100 days.
Dorcas, 83, was one of the first female African primary school teachers.
She started teaching in the 1940s. Several Homa Bay County political leaders sent their condolences.
