Mambo Mseto host Mzazi Willy M Tuva, musician Akothee and DJ Posion Ivy all won awards at the Afrika Muzik Magazine Awards held in Texas, USA on Saturday.
Tuva was named the best radio and TV presenter in Africa, while Akothee was crowned the best female musician in East Africa, beating out Vanessa Mdee, Nandy, Victoria Kimani and Fena Gitu, among others.
DJ Poison Ivy, who is the Dallas Mavericks' official deejay, walked away with the best DJ in East Africa award. They were joined in the winners' category by Tanzania’s Ommy Dimpoz, who won East African Male Artiste of the Year, beating out fellow countrymen Diamond, Rayvanny and Alikiba, as well as Kenya’s Nyashinski and Khaligraph Jones.
