A Chinese contractor yesterday narrated how he and two others were robbed of Sh3 million.
Zon Changwei, a colleague and a driver were attacked on May 6, 2017, after withdrawing the cash meant for workers' pay.
He was testifying in a case where John Temoi is charged with robbery with violence.
Changwei’s colleague was stabbed on the cheek as he tried to resist the attack, prompting them to surrender the money.
“They sped off towards the direction we had come from and I ordered the driver to turn and chase after the attackers,” said the witness.
He said the driver caught up with the attackers and knocked the motorcycle they were riding on. Temoi and Simon Omwenga Nyang’au were arrested and charged with robbery with violence and being in possession of a firearm illegally.
The case will proceed on November 11.
