Days after male congregants from Neno Evangelism Centre demanded an apology from Pastor James Ng’ang’a over his use of ‘demeaning words’ to refer to them, the preacher is on the hot seat again over his utterances.
In a video circulating on social media, Ng’ang’a's sentiments that have been interpreted by some to advocate for rape has rubbed netizens the wrong way with many calling out the Neno founder and demanding that he be reprimanded.
“Usijaribu kutisha Ng’ang’a. Tena wewe hujaenda jela, hujarape wanawake, wewe hakuna kitu unajua…” said Ng’ang’a in the video shared by comedian Felix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o.
According to Lord Derrick - one of those who commented on the viral clip - Pastor Ng’ang’a has gone too far and such reckless comments should be denounced at all cost.
“He talks of rape as if it's a good thing, he's actually kindah proud of it,” shared Derrick.
Another user Victor Nyaata, claimed that the pastor is stirring controversial on purpose.
"Pastor Nganga is being controversial on purpose. He knows once he says something worth raising eyebrows, it will be all over social media. Is he bothered? No, in fact, it makes him smile loud. Why? Because he is a businessman and we are promoting his artistry by making him trend," he commented on a different clip of the same pastor, dancing in church.
Others, however, defended the preacher, claiming that he is just an 'old man with dry Jokes.’
“Imagin (sic) Ng'ang'a has never been serious he cracks a lot of those jokes in his church he is a ridiculous dude..if you take him serious meen'''! Mtahangaika bure..in fact, he has too many lambs and his church is full of break through..I am not his mfuazi but I know he is a real man of God..uzee pia unachangianga hizo jokes ame ona mengi chini ya jua watu,” shared Murigi.
“Its soo sad that this guy counts rape as his achievements in the journey to Christianity.....” Zeejay Boogeyman weighed in
Lucky Labowitz, on his part, added, “It's only in Kenya where someone openly admits that he is/was a rapist and people laugh about it....only in Kenya!”
Speaking to Word Is late last month, Ng'ang'a accused his enemies of cutting clips from his sermons in a bid to soil his reputation.
"I don't want to trend, this is my church, I have bought with my money, and the TV station that I am preaching on is also mine,
"So I don't need any publicity that people are putting me into. I am old and rich enough to look for publicity," said Ng'ang'a.
