About a week ago, Kenyan gospel singer Jimmy Gait revealed he had been battling a throat condition for a while and needed to seek specialised treatment in India, news that took his fans by surprise.

“I have been battling a condition and have gone to quite a number of hospitals and it has been decided I have to go out of the country for specialized treatment,” he said.

Update

In a recent video on his YouTube channel, the gospel veteran confirmed he had safely arrived in India and is staying in New Delhi.

According to Jimmy Gait, he has been subjected to endless tests at the BLK Hospital for doctors to establish what exactly he is ailing from.

“For the past five days, I have been undergoing test after test so that the doctor can establish what exactly is ailing me. Not just the symptoms, but the root cause of the problem,” he said.

Jimmy Gait went further to disclose he had undergone a procedure known as endoscopy which involves a camera being put down his throat all the way to his stomach to see if the passage is clear.

Unfortunately, the singer says he is not allowed to reveal any more information than he already has until the results are finalized.

Throat cancer rumors

Jimmy Gait is however not happy with false news spreading online implying he flew to India for cancer treatment. In the video, he warns online users from assuming his condition and wait for the test results to be out.

“I would like to highlight something that I have noticed on social media going on.  There is a rumour saying I have come here for cancer treatment, that I have throat cancer. I don’t know where that came from. But I would really appeal to anybody spreading those kinds of rumours to kindly desist because we are still doing tests and until the results are out, it’s not right for you to spread those kinds of rumours, “he cautioned.

Jimmy Gait went further to explain that the false rumours are already affecting his parents and would wish for them to stop for the sake of his family.

“It is already affecting my parents so much. My family, my close people and fans that love me, they are worried for me.”

Prayers

Jimmy Gait also asked fans to remember him in prayer as he waits for the test results.

“I am trusting God like you are trusting God with me and those that are praying with me that I will get a good report. Continue praying with me that even if it was going to be a bad report that it will be a good report,” he said.
