The wife of Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua on Friday, June 21 graduated with a Master’s of Science degree in Project Management.
Elated, Governor Mutua took to Twitter where he showered his wife, Lilian Nganga, with praise and acknowledged that the hard work she put in, had finally paid off.
“Congrats Lilian Nganga for doing it again. Years ago you had a First Class Honours for your Bachelor’s degree. Today you were top of your class in your Masters of Science degree at JKUAT. All those nights you stayed up studying have paid off. I am very proud of you my love,” wrote Mutua during the institutions 33rd graduation ceremony.
Lilian Nganga is among personalities to graduate in the recent past.
On May 11, Angie, the daughter of former Kenyatta University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Olive Mugenda attaining a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Aeronautics and Astronautics Engineering from Purdue University - West Lafayette- Indiana.
Prof. Mugenda could not hide her joy also as she urged her daughter to use the skills gained from the university ranked number 56 in the 2019 National University Rankings to transform the society.
“Blessed to attend my daughter's graduation at Purdue University - USA. Congratulations my dear girl, Angie, on attaining your Ph.D. in Astronautical & Aeronautical Engineering. Use your skills to leave a mark wherever you go. You have made me a proud mother. God bless!”
June was the turn of Reverend Kathy Kiuna and husband Bishop Allan Kiuna of the Jubilee Christian Church (JCC) to celebrate as their son Jeremy graduated from New Manchester High School.
Jeremy was welcomed to the podium with a standing ovation, a gesture his mother said elicited all sorts of feelings.
“My boy y’all. The graduation was too awesome. To see them give him a standing ovation brought all sorts of feelings. For a boy who was born at 6 months and could fit on the palm of my hand, to come this far by God’s grace? How can I have enough words to express my gratitude? Only God. Only God. Only God could do this. Gloooooory,” said Kathy.
