Nyce Wanjeri’s ex-husband Tito Wagithomo has written an emotional letter for their daughter Natasha on her 8th birthday.
The singer cum songwriter who broke off his marriage to the award winning actress a while back in the letter expressed his disappointment in not being able to be with his daughter as much he would have wanted but hoped in a few years to come Natasha will grow to understand.
“Natasha my lovely daughter, exactly 8 years ago you came into my life. After a sleepless night of feeling impatient, anxious and praying to God for all to turn out well. Then you came and I held your tiny self in my arms. I was the happiest young dad ever.
"Over the years we've shared a huge hug while wishing you a happy birthday, but today even if that might not happen because of the physical distance, I have you in my heart and that's where you'll always be.
"It might be hard for you to understand some things at your age like all we do is miss each other, but in the next 10 years, you'll be 18, and get a hang of grownup issues. Even then, you'll still be daddy's little girl no matter where both of us will be, and I'll protect you with my life. I love you from the bottom of my heart. Happy 8th birthday mamaa,“ Tito wrote.
Split with Nyce
Speaking during an interview with Radio Jambo, Nyce said that she is not yet ready to disclose everything, but their nine-year marriage was stretched due to a myriad of issues including disrespect.
She said that their relationship started showing cracks as they clocked seven years together, and when it reached its boiling point in 2018, she could not take it anymore.
“Mizozano huanza, Yetu ilianza tukielekea seven years. Ilkua ngumu kwanza ju pocketwise hatukua sawa lakini tulikua tunapush each other. Fanya hivi nifanye hivi tulete mezani. Tulipatana Kenya National Theatre… Alikua ashakaa mwaka mimi nilikuja nyuma yake. Tulikua na stories similar kidogo lakini wakati miaka saba inaelekea unakuta pia wewe unagrow; kuna mtoto ananiita mama, kuna mtoto anamwita baba."
Tito’s take
In a post that has since been deleted Titus explained some of the reasons that led to their failed marriage.
“Why am I using Facebook? My marriage is over. So painful I swear. I saw it coming though. Success causes absenteeism, lack of bonding and lack of family time. Why did I imagine we last forever? We are both artists. It’s not normal. It doesn’t work,” he wrote.
