A man is nursing injuries at Bondo Sub-county hospital after he was assaulted by the son of a married woman he was allegedly dating.
According to Citizen Digital, the suspect, David Omondi, confronted the victim at Sinapanga village demanding answers as to why he was ‘tuning’ his mother.
Juma Abuko the Chairman of Community Policing Committee told the news outlet that Omondi then descended on the man with kicks and blows.
He was, however, rescued by locals and rushed to the hospital.
Omondi is being held at Bondo Police Station.
The incident comes barely two months after a 16-year-old boy allegedly killed his mother’s lover in Kericho County.
As first reported by the Standard, "the suspect lost his temper after the man vowed to continue an affair with his mother, a widow", at Ririat in Bureti.
“The young man had banished the man from the compound before and when he found him with his mother in the kitchen, he lost his temper. He beat the old man before picking a knife and stabbing him twice in the chest,” said area chief Anderson Rotich.
The man died on the spot.
