A baby whose mother was murdered and her womb cut open has opened his eyes for the first time.

This is according to ABC news which reports that ‘the miracle happened’ as his father held him two weeks after he was allegedly forcibly taken out of his mother’s womb in Chicago.

According to the Mirror, the boy’s mother, Marlen Ochoa-Lopez, 19, was found dead and her baby cut out after she was allegedly lured to a home belonging to Clarisa Figueroa, 46, in the Scottsdale area.

Lopez is said to have met Figueroa on a Facebook group but was lured into the woman's house with an offer of extra baby clothes for her unborn son -Yavani Yadiel Lopez.

Figueroa then allegedly strangled her to death, cut Yavani Yadiel Lopez out of her body and claimed him as her own.

Mirror adds that hours after Lopez disappeared, Figueroa “called 911 for help claiming she had given birth to a boy inside her home.

"She told emergency responders she was suffering from “post-delivery issues,” a police source told the Chicago Sun-Times.

"DNA tests are thought to have confirmed that the baby, in fact, belonged to Ochoa-Lopez and her husband.”

Figueroa and her daughter Desiree,24, have been charged with Marlen Ochoa-Lopez's murder.
