Naivasha Girls High School was initially started as Hill School, a primary facility for odiero kids in 1961 when classes ran from Standard one to six.

Hill School was closed down after the white community left in December 1964 and was reopened two years later as a mixed day single stream secondary school. By 1969, parents agreed to establish boarding facilities.

Today, this school in Nakuru County has about 1, 000 students who enjoy the tranquil environment as the school is sandwiched with by  Hells Gate National Park, Lake Naivasha and Kenya Wildlife Service Training School.

In this school nicknamed ‘NaG,’ Valentine’s Day is celebrated with a yummy chicken meal. Students take a break from books and converge at the School Hall where the Principal and teachers give them a pep talk.

Students though ranked ugali, beans and cabbage as their favourite meal and a trip aboard Mrembo, the school truck, capped their ecstasy. For girls who schooled in NaG in early 2000s to-date, Mr Njoroge the chemistry teacher remains the best ever.

NaG performs well in regional sports, drama and music festivals, advancing to national levels besides their name as academic giants in the region.
