Kirinyaga Women Representative Purity Wangui Ngirici is mourning the death of her nephew Robin who lost his life in a tragic crash on Sunday at Oldonyosambu along the Arusha-Namanga road in Tanzania.

The woman Representative took to social media to describe her nephew as a man of passion and virtue.

“The cruel hand of death has snatched my beloved nephew Robin who perished from the Arusha-Namanga accident. Robin was a young man of virtue. I recall with nostalgia his passion for everything his mindset to do. He was a sociable bubbly gentleman who like any other young person had great dreams for his future. Rest in eternal peace, my dear nephew. You will be fondly missed,” Purity wrote.

It was believed that Robin was among the eight people that perished in the crash as earlier reported but the Arusha police commander, Jonathan Shana has refuted the news clarifying details of the accident.

“This incident seems to have been miscommunicated to a certain degree. The news being circulated in the media is not true.  There was no car race and those that died were only two not eight,” he said.

According to the Police Commander, the accident which occurred on April 20 involved two vehicles, one from Kenya believed to be the one Robin was in.

“Magari mawili moja kutoka nchi jirani ya Kenya inatajwa kusababishwa na uzembe wa dereva wa gari lililokuwa katika mwendo mkali huku likijaribu kulipita gari jingine lililokuwa likikata kona bila kuchukua tahadhari ya kutosha,”  he explained.
