The story of Deputy President William Ruto being a chicken seller has been re-told probably a million times, there is however an untold dream he harbored as hawked kuku kienyeji on the Great North Road.

Speaking on April 16, Ruto narrated that his self-proclaimed ‘hustler’ tag was no walk in the park as he struggled to make ends meet during his formative years.

He disclosed that having sold chicken by the railway line for years, all he ever wanted, at the time was to be a train driver.

Back to Uasin Gishu
