Tusker Project Fame winner Ruth Matete has confessed to sinning against God by participating in the reality TV show.
Speaking on Radio Jambo the gospel singer admitted that she was a born again Christian when joining the show but people did not know because she did not carry herself as one at the time.

“I went to back to church after Tusker project fame and a lot of drama ensued. Many people judged me based on the fact that I participated in the show as it promoted alcohol. Others did not like how I dressed…just different reasons,” she said
The Nakupenda hit-maker says there were a few members of her church that supported her even though she felt she had let them down.
“Let me just tell you the truth, in life, we have our ups and downs. Let no one lie to you that since they got saved everything has been perfect. There gets a time when you feel life has gotten really hard and God has left you or He has forgotten you. As a result, you get upset and decide to be on your own and do your own thing,” she explained.

Ruth further stated that her backsliding was a result of frustrations she got from financial instability, struggling to make ends meet and disputes with her close friends.
A friend of hers told her about the show and at first, she declined to participate.
“When I thought about everything I was going through, I didn’t think twice I went for the auditions and I won.”

The gospel singer has been missing in the music industry for a while and explains that she is still around only that her school takes much of her time.
Ruth Matete started a voice coaching school in a bid to help those that are talented in different musical aspects to nurture their talent.
