Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri has revealed that a land squabble that resulted in him lunging at the motorcade of Former President Daniel Arap Moi was the start of his political career.

In an interview with Kingori Mwangi of the Wicked Edition, Ngunjiri said that a friend of his wanted to swindle him out of property in Nakuru and hired goons to kick his family out.

Out of pain and frustration, he armed himself with arrows, chased the goons out and decided to engage the former president.

“That guy alikua pahali ambapo natengezea tractors zangu. Akajua nanunua nyumba na hio shamba ilikua na nyumba ingine; It is called New Githeka Farm in Bahati on your way to Kabarak.

“When we were talking, akaniambia naskia hapo inauzwa nyumba ingine. Nikamwabia yes, ile niko nanunua lakini iko ingine next.Sasa akaniambia ni nimnegotiatie kwa hao wazee. But, he left that one and came and bought mine…I was buying for 250 three acres, akaongeza ikakuja 450. Akawapea hio, sasa wakampea agreement.

“He stayed for about two years - kwa ile uwoga kushindwa ntasemaje kwa huyu rafiki yangu and he is still my friend. Until one day akakuja na watu karibu hamsini wakabomoa fence, wakakanyaga toys za watoto mpaka karibu na nyumba. I was in the office and when I heard that, I was mad… Nikatoka town nikawakuta wamejaa huko wakifanya hio mambo. Nikaweka mishale yangu hapa nyuma nikapelekana nao mbio wakatoroka.

“I knew they had a plan… So I only knew the saviour was only one – the president. Kwa sababu kama kuna president ambaye angemkuta maskini na amsikize, it was Moi…

“It was on a Saturday alikua anatoka nyumbani anaenda State House Nakuru kitu kama saa tatu… so I timed akiwa anapita hapo, wakati gari la kwanza lilipita, nilliingia katikati ya barabara nikapiga magoti na nikainua mikono juu.

“He was a good person. Alisimama. Askari wakakuja, akauliza what is the problem… I told him matajiri hapa wananinyang’anya na hapa ndio nimekaa. Akasema panda the next car,” narrated Ngunjiri.

Ngunjiri also watered down claims he bit Simba Arati’s finger during a scuffle in parliament.

Ata wewe nikuulize ata saa hii kidole ikikuja kwa mdomo ilikua inaenda wapi?” He posed.
