Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho has excited Kenyans on social media with his dancing skills while grooving to Ali Kiba's new hit Kadogo.
In the short undated video that has been shared widely, Governor Joho is seen dancing gleefully alongside Likoni MP Mishi Mboko to the beat of the song that is currently topping charts across East Africa.
It is, however, not a coincidence that Joho was dancing along to the song sang by the bongo flava music heavyweight.
The two go way back.
Kadogo on its intro specifically mentions 001, the governor’s beloved slogan and county number. A perfect homage from Ali Kiba to Mombasa’s senior-most man and personal friend.
As Kenyans ushered the New Year 2019, Joho went out of his way to treat Ali Kiba’s fans to a free concert by paying the gate fees at Mama Ngina Drive.
“We are going to usher the New Year in style. I want all of you to attend Ali Kiba's concert as we cross over to 2019. You will enter for free but ensure you show your Identity Card,” said Joho.
That's not all.
When Ali Kiba fell in love with his Mombasa born wife Amina Rikesh, the governor was among friends and family who flanked the jubilant Kiba at the Ummul Kuthlum Mosque.
After the important Islamic formality, Kiba’s entourage headed to Diamond Jubilee Hall, Kongwea, for a Swahili wedding. A second wedding was held in Dar es Salaam.
