A 63-year-old watchman was arraigned in a Kiambu court for defiling a minor.
Wilson Kimani Macharia was charged that on January 14th at Githurai 44 in Kiambu, he unlawfully had sex with a 12-year old girl, against her wishes.
Kimani had earlier pleaded guilty and told the court that on the material day, the girl approached him and borrowed Sh25 from him to buy lunch.

He further said that after giving her the money, he slept with her although he never intended to commit the offence.
He blamed the devil for tempting him to commit the act.
“I am very remorseful and will never repeat this. I pray that the court exercises leniency on me,” he had told the court.

When his case was mentioned for facts, he told the court that he was not in a right frame of mind when he was first arraigned in court and pleaded guilty to the offence.
The case will be heard on February 8.
