Kericho County Assembly member Paul Chirchir Tarimbo has denied claims that he impregnated and abandoned a 24-year-old woman after he got elected.
Ann Wanjiku claims he lived with Tarimbo for two years as husband and wife, but was dumped after Tarimbo became a big man.
Tarimbo, however, denies abandoning the woman, saying he only knows her as a friend, and that he is not the father of her baby.
“This is political mudslinging and should be dismissed as such. I know her, but she has now turned into an extortionist and I won’t let her harass me. If she is sure that’s my child, she can go to court and get orders for a DNA test. I am in a relationship, and it’s not with her,” he told The Nairobian.

But Wanjiku says all she wants from Tarimbo is a job so that she can support the five-year-old baby boy she claims she had with Tarimbo.
“I am jobless and have nothing. If he can just help me get a job, I promise to never bother him because I will be able to fend for myself an his son,” says an emotional Wanjiku.
She adds that Tarimbo was a good man and an excellent husband but she doesn’t know how he changed to the extent of dumping her.
“If there is anything I did to make him leave me, I apologise and ask him to reconsider. He doesn’t have to take me back as a wife. All I am asking for is for him to help me secure a job,” she pleaded.
