It was a moment of terror on stage for Miss Congo Dorcas Kasinde after her hair caught fire shortly after she was crowned Miss Africa 2018 in the city of Calabar, Nigeria, on Friday.
The incident happened while Kasinde and her fellow competitor were exchanging pleasantries after she was declared the winner.

The beauty queen was, however, forced to cut the celebration short after flames from a sparkler that was launched to celebrate her win caught her hair.
Upon realizing that she was on fire, the crowd shouted to alert her as a frightened Dorcas screamed and ducked as her competitor desperately tried to alert organizers.
An unidentified man on stage helped her put it out. She was not hurt.
