
Josephat Kamau Mwangi has been named the most improved student in this year’s KCSE exams.
While announcing the results on Friday, Cabinet Secretary for education Amina Mohammed said Mwangi who had managed to score 278 marks in KCPE, scored an A minus.
Juliet Otieno from Pangani Girls was named the best candidate overall with an impressive 87.644 points.
Amina noted that the number of candidates who scored the minimum university entry grade of C+ and above is 90,377 up from 70,073 last year.
The exam which started on November 5 ending November 28 recorded an overall improvement compared to 2017 and 2016.
KNEC chairman George Magoha noted that none of the KCSE exam papers leaked and every child got what they deserved.
Results of 100 students were cancelled. A total of 663,811 candidates sate for the exams.
