Prophet Victor Kanyari confirmed to The Nairobian that he was indeed Bishop Mwangi, the man of God preaching on radio, but that many Kenyans don’t know he also goes by that name.
“My name is Mwangi and I’m not hiding. I preach on many radio stations nowadays. Am I the only one who asks for offerings? If there’s anyone who claims I’ve conned them, let them step forward and declare as much,” he said, adding that: “Those who are making these allegations are unhappy about my progress and what I have achieved. Let them come out and face me if they are truly honest. They know where to find me...in my church at Nyamakima.”
The Nairobian has learnt that many listeners have been complaining on a daily basis despite the radio station posting disclaimer messages.
But Kanyari is not the only preacher whose recordings are broadcasted on radio. There are two others with an almost similar script to his.
Kanyari was exposed as Bishop Mwangi while following up on some aspects of his show. A call to one of his ‘Bishop Mwangi’ numbers identifies him as Prophet Victor Kanyari through Truecaller.
