Photos: Somber mood at Mama Oliech’s funeral

Mary Auma, the mother of former Harambee Stars captain Dennis Oliech, was laid to rest on Saturday 18th in Ratta area, Seme sub-county in Kisumu county.

Popularly known as Mama Oliech, Mary Auma died on July 20 at her home in Lavington, Nairobi, after developing difficulty breathing.

She was eulogized by many as a great, cheerful, iron woman and hardworking woman.

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga eulogized Mama Oliech as an embodiment of reason and a highly spirited, industrious and brilliant woman who was passionate about young talent.

Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o, Speaker Onyango Oloo, Seme MP James Nyikal, Elizabeth Ongoro, Makadara MP George Aladwa, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino were among many politicians who were present during the burial.
