London based pop artiste Jane Ikasi popularly known as Mistony will be coming back to Kenya after ten years abroad.
Born in Kenya before relocating to the UK with her family at a tender age, her musical career began when she was only ten years old when she joined a dancing group of seven in Catford County Girls School in London.
She has since had tremendous growth.
The degree holder in performing arts and business administration from Lewisham College and Goldsmiths University of London has worked with Ferre Gola, Mbilia Bell, Elephant Man, Beenie Man, Koffi Olomide, Danni Embogo Papa Wemba and Yondo Sister.
The peak of her career came when she started working with the legendary Kanda Bongo Man who was based in London at the time. It was with him that she performed in one the world’s biggest event in Maidstone The G8 "Make poverty history" in 2005.
Kanda Bongo man encouraged her to start singing. He featured her in some of his songs from 2009. Mistony released her first single Baybe in 2013
2015 was a big year for the star, nominated for UK Beffta awards; Mistony went on to win Best Newcomer Afrobeat Act 2015.
“I am excited to be back to my motherland. I also will shoot the video for my new song. Kiss My in Kenya,” she said.
She will spend two weeks in Kenya, during which, she will seek collaborations with local artistes as well as a media tour to promote her music.
