Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has finally responded to hard hitting remarks attributed to his Siaya counterpart James Orengo.

In a post on his social media page, Murkomen toned down the sting from comments made by Orengo, which for legal purposes cannot be published, saying that he respected the senator.

In his response, Murkomen stated that the debate on what kind of a child his father sired was only between his father and the Siaya legislator.

He added that he respects Orengo’s children despite not knowing them.

“Sen. @orengo_james is slightly older than my dad.Orengo was elected to Bunge in 1979,the year I was born. A debate of who gave birth to what kind of a child can only be btwn Orengo&my Dad.I would like to respect Orengo’s children&their achievements even though I don’t know them,” wrote Murkomen.

The exchange between the two was triggered by the rising temperatures following the heated Mau debate on evictions of squatters on the water tower.

Orengo was not particularly impressed by Murkomen’s utterances linking Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) chief Raila Odinga to the evictions.

“Can Murkomen really claim to be in Government and the evictions are ongoing and he has no answer except to blame Raila?’’ Posed Orengo.

The Senate Majority Leader was also under fire this from members of his coalition over unflattering remarks that some attributed was aimed at Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“Some people who recently joined the Government through the backdoor are working with some officials to remove people from Mau…”
