Controversial Embakasi East MP Babu Owino is always one not to shy away from expressing himself on whatever point he feels he needs to pass across.

President Uhuru Kenyatta’s annual state of the nation address was one huge stage that he did not fail to pull one straight out of his hat.

When President Uhuru said that Kenyans needed to unite and called on the MPs to make peace by shaking hands, Babu took the cue and went for the hand of the most powerful man in the land.

Ecstatic, Babu walked to Uhuru as the amused August House cheered him on, eliciting a hearty laugh from the president. There are no permanent enemies in politics after all.

Babu capped it all with another handshake with the head of state outside parliament buildings.

He then took to social media where he posted a cryptic message that seemed to apologize to Uhuru for calling him unprintable names a while back.

"I am a fruit of my mother's womb & therefore I can never disrespect any woman for whatever reason,” wrote Babu.

What cannot be missed from the gesture, however, is that the two have for a long time not been seeing eye to eye.

Just a day earlier he had also extended an olive branch to nominated Senator Millicent Omanga.

Photos of Babu shaking Omanga’s hand took social media by storm after the two met a bursary awarding ceremony in his constituency.

“I would love to thank my sister Mama @HonMillyOmanga, Lower Savanah Ward MCA Hon Nicholas and thousands of patriots who showed up at Jacaranda grounds to help me award bursaries to our sisters and brothers in various secondary and tertiary learning institutions today,” wrote Babu.

In March, Babu Owino also met his Starehe counterpart Charles 'Jaguar' Njagua where they both decided to bury the hatchet after exchanging blows in Parliament five months earlier.

“Today I met Hon. Jaguar at parliament and reconciled our differences. Promised to work together to serve the interest of Kenyans,” posted Babu to which Jaguar simply responded, “Kenya is finally one…”
