Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz was arrested by law enforcement officers on 16th April after posting controversial videos on social media.
Diamond shared two videos, one of him in bed with Hamisa Mobetto and another depicting him kissing an unidentified Caucasian woman.
Tanzanian minister for sports and culture Dr Harrison Mwakyembe confirmed Diamond’s arrest while addressing parliament.
Dr Mwakyembe was responding to a question by Ulanga MP Goodluck Mlingwa on how the government plans on dealing with musicians and other individuals sharing unsuitable content on social media.
“Kuna baadhi ya wasanii wetu ambao walianza kufanya uhuni uhuni ndani ya mitandao ya kijamii jana tumeweza kumkamata msanii nyota Tanzania Diamond na tumemfikisha polisi na anahojiwa kutokana na picha chafu alizozirusha,” he stated.
