Beyonce's headline show at Coachella ticked all the boxes as she pulled out the stops to bring about a live Destiny's Child reunion, the first time the three-piece band have performed together since the Super Bowl performance in 2013.

Bey, who was forced to turn down the desert festival last year when she was pregnant with twins Rumi and Sir Carter, shocked fans as she brought old bandmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams out on stage.

After an electric high-energy performance of Run The World, the stage lights came down and showed Beyonce in silhouette bookended by two other women.

As the three struck their pose from their Charlie's Angels-themed music video Independent Women, the crowd went wild as they realised what was going on.

Wearing their trademark matching outfits, Michelle in sparkly camouflage trousers and a long-sleeved crop top, Bey in her leotard and thigh-high boots and Kelly wearing high-waisted shorts and a crop top , Destiny's Child made their way down the steps of the stage walking in step with each other.

They performed a medley of old hits, including Baby Boy, Say My Name and Soldier, before Beyonce introduced Michelle and Kelly as "my sisters" and told them she loves them.

She hugged them both and kissed them on the cheek before they skipped back off stage.

A Destiny's Child reunion had been heavily rumoured for weeks before Coachella kicked off, with one source telling Page Six: "Beyoncé and Destiny’s Child are reuniting. It was teased, rumoured, squashed, so nothing much else was said … But it's happening.”

Destiny's Child formed in 1997 and released five huge albums together before splitting in 2006 after their Destiny Fulfilled… And Lovin' It tour.

Beyonce also brought out her husband Jay Z and sister Solange for duets during her Coachella top-billing.
