While the dust has not settled yet on the departure of former  NTV news anchor Larry Madowo to the BBC, reports indicate that his former co-presenter Victoria Rubadiri is also on her way out.

According to sources, the screen siren has allegedly handed in her resignation and is slated to make a grand switch to Royal Media Services’ Citizen TV. It is intimated that Rubadiri could be Lilian Muli’s replacement at the station as she heads for maternity leave.

The Weekend Edition news anchor holds a bachelors from Temple University, USA, and did Public Relations jobs in New Jersey and New York before moving back to Kenya after emigrating with her family while 10 years old.

Coincidentally, her supposed move will see her re-united with her former boss Linus Kaikai who has been appointed as the Director of Strategy and Innovation.

In the new roster rolled out by RMS, former KTN’s Managing Editor Joe Ageyo is the new Editorial Director while Fred Afune is the new Director of radio and technical services

Former NTV news anchor Jamila Mohammed is the new Managing Editor on the Swahili desk and Pamela Asigi the Managing Editor, English desk.

Moses Karanja takes over as Chief Engineer, Latifah Ngunjiri as Production Director, Michael Ngugi, Commercial Director, and Caroline Wanyama as Marketing Director.

Photos of Madowo’s farewell party on Wednesday were met with disbelief by some who urged him to reconsider and not leave Rubadiri behind; considering the screen chemistry they had together.

He tendered his resignation a week ago in what some claimed was as a result of factors including differences over his hardline stance on the government especially after the media blackout following the controversial swearing in of Raila Odinga in January.

Kaikai on his part left weeks ago after getting on the crosshairs of the state over its move to shut down TV and radio stations for airing the ‘swearing in’ live.

A few weeks several columnists from the daily resigned in protest over alleged government interference.
