A 35-year-old house help who was captured on camera assaulting and feeding vomits on a 15 months old baby has been arrested and charged in court.
Cecile Murugi Ngubo was arraigned at Makadara Law Courts to face charge of subjecting cruel punishment to a child at Ngara estate in Nairobi on the 14th March at about 13:00 hours.
It is reported that the child’s mother hand installed CCTV camera’s to monitor her house and on the material day, she decided to review it.
She was however shocked to see the accused who had worked for her for only three months mistreating the child including feeding her with vomits.
According to the police, a CCTV camera captured the accused pinching the child, eating her food then kicking her on the face then using rug meant for floor to wipe her face.
The mother of the child arrived home that evening and confronted the accused who denied having mistreated the child claiming she was feeding the child. She then called the police who arrested her after viewing the footage.
She denied the charges claiming she is the sole bread winner and has three children to take care of, thus the court ought to be lenient on her.
The court remanded her until 21st March when her bond terms will be determined and at the same time have the child fully examined.
