On 16 March, a video of a househelp beating up and stepping on a child emerged, sparking public outcry.
The distressing footage shared in popular Facebook group Kilimani mums by a user by the name Millicent Njeru, purportedly the child’s mother shows the nanny slapping, pinching and even kicking the child on the head.
"This is what my baby has been undergoing through" she wrote on the page.
According to reports, she reported the matter to the police and the case was to be mentioned on Friday 16th at the Makadara law courts.

Three years ago, a Ugandan house help, Jolly Tumuhirwe was charged with attempted murder after footage of her stepping on a child emerge.
In the footage which has since been pulled down, the maid is seated on a sofa as she feeds the girl, before suddenly unleashing a vicious slap, followed by another thunderous smack.
Overwhelmed by the slaps and a mouth stuffed with food, the girl vomits. This provokes the monstrous house help, who responds by violently throwing the girl to the floor, before smacking her behind with a flashlight.
The house help goes on to step on the child several times then carries her to another room beyond the nanny camera’s lens.
