An Opposition figure is very distressed following the recent move by Raila Odinga to bury the hatchet with his political nemesis President Kenyatta.

Reason? The politician is said to have invested heavily in the formation of a coalition party that is now on the verge of collapse after the two top leaders reached a deal to work together.

A little birdie whispered to The Grapevine that the politician invested heavily into the outfit whose end is in the offing.

He raised the money after selling off his stake in a family business that he has been running for years, which seemingly will be swept down the drain.

On the same issue...

Raila’s decision to reconcile with Uhuru has also put a senior member of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) – a wing of NASA – in an awkward position.

The man – who has earned himself immense support among the opposition supporters through his role in the protracted political battle – is staring at sliding back to political oblivion.

Known for his hard-hitting remarks, the combative politician has since rejected the deal between his boss and Uhuru, further annoying Raila’s diehard supporters.
