A number of bodyguards have been sitting idle for almost a month since they were withdrawn from their NASA VIPs.

They are now happy to be back. However some who have been going through sufferings are not happy and can’t speak out.

This is because of a simple handshake between Raila and Uhuru last week. The handshake also moved the markets in the country with strengthening of the shilling.

The whole drama left many wondering how important it was for the two to meet. “From bodyguards, passports, framed charges and other issues.

Things have changed just like that,” said one officer.

Opposition chief Raila Odinga’s decision to reconcile with President Uhuru Kenyatta has put a senior member of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) – a wing of NASA – in an awkward position.

The man – who has earned himself immense support among the opposition supporters through his role in the protracted political battle – is staring at sliding back to political oblivion.

Known for his hard-hitting remarks, the combative politician has since rejected the deal between his boss and Uhuru, further annoying Raila’s diehard supporters.
