Award winning and Kenya Afro Pop Band Sauti Sol light up Machakos Town during the Chrome Vodka Mega Bash held at People’s Park. Despite the heavy downpour, grind-lock traffic; along the busy Nairobi-Mombasa Road, and the cold the Afro-Pop Band didn’t disappoint the revelers after performing hit after hits from their latest collabos.

It is at the Machakos People’s Park that Sauti Sol performed live; for the first time, their 2018 hit single ‘Girl Next Door’, featuring Nigerian star Tiwa Savage. The Boys Band performed 12 songs as the revelers braced the heavy rains to dance along to their favorites tunes. Sauti Sol couldn’t wrap up their performance without their signature closer tune ‘Shake Your Bum Bum’.

King Kaka wasn’t left behind adding new flavor to the Chrome Mega Bash by performing his new single ‘Mistarilionaire’, while ending his performance with ‘Tutaonana Baadaye’ featuring Amos & Josh.

Nameless sent the crowd into a frenzy during his performance of his new hit and feel-good club banger ‘VOLOYOOM’. The song tells the story of a man struggling to appease his agitated girlfriend after a small tiff in the club.

In a bid to calm her down, he asks the DJ, who was just about to shut down his sound to help him out by increasing the volume (ongeza voloyoom) to the music, because his girlfriend is a big fan of Afro-pop. "VOLOYOOM" is a twisted play on the word VOLUME.

The concert ended at 6am on Sunday with the performance of Kasabuni aka Timmy Tdat. The energetic Timmy performance for an hour alongside dancers. Other artistes that graced the event were Maima, Femi One and Jua Kali, while DJ on the decks were DJ Joe Mfalme and Creepa.

Commenting on the concert, KBL Head of Spirits, Anne Joy Muhoro said that Chrome Vodka has recorded tremendous growth since Sauti Sol came on board in February last year.

“The brand association with reputable musical artists has strengthened Chrome’s credibility and consumer affinity showcasing the drink as affordable, premium quality vodka. Together, we created a unique platform that resonated powerfully with our target consumer and they responded to it remarkably. We hope to continue the trend in 2018 where will further create memorable moments and experiences for our loyal consumers,” explained Mrs. Muhoro.
