The Tanzanian Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA) has banned two Diamond Platinumz songs due to their vulgar nature.
Diamond’s Hellelujah featuring Morgan Heritage and Waka Waka featuring rapper Rick Ross were amoing the 13 Tanzanian songs that the commission flagged down for containing illicit content that violates Tanzania’s code of conduct.
In a statement to the press, released on 28th February, TCRA urged Tanzanian media houses to give the 13 songs complete blackout even as the crooner was given the green light to open Wasafi FM and Wasafi TV.
Diamond was officially handed broadcasting licences for the radio and TV station by the Zanzibar’s Minister of Information, Culture, Tourism and Sports. He went ahead to thank Tanzanian President Dr John Magufuli and his Zanzibari counterpart Dr Ali Mohammed Shein noting that his initiative is driven by the need to create jobs for the unemployed journalists in the country.
