Kiambu residents claim an ogre, Mutheca -itu has been terrorising them.
The scary creature, which mostly strikes between 2am and 4am is alleged to be breaking into their homes, demanding money and raping their women.
“The ogre attacks from around 2am and 4am. It is usually armed with a torch, big stone and a sword. It has the habit of asking its victims to unzip his black pair of shorts and play around with his manhood. Further, we have heard cases where it rapes women,” Daniel Kihiu, a resident of Ruthiruini told The Nairobian.
Kihui revealed that efforts to kill the ogre have been fruitless.
“We were determined to capture this Mutheca-itu but he outsmarted us. We were informed by locals that he hides in the banana plantation, so we formed a group of 20 people and ambushed him but instead of escaping, he lit his big torch, armed with a big sword and approached us without fear. We all ran away,” said Kihiu.
So scared are the residents that they have to close businesses early and the tulevis have to dash home for fear of bumping into the ogre.
Peter Wakaba, a village elder from Kangoya, confirmed that Mutheca-itu does exist and he has received concerns from the residents.
“The creature sounds fake and weird, but he is real. These days, you cannot see drunkards on the road; people are getting to their homes early. His days are numbered since we have put security measures in place,” the former councillor said.
Another resident, Wangui Kimani, says that area cops should beef up security.
“We are closing businesses early and bars are the most affected,” she said.
According to the area administration several complaints have been made and they have launched a manhunt for the mysterious night walker who is still at large.
