Crime buster Hesy Wa Dandora has responded to allegations that police killed innocent civilians among them a university student.
Three young men Dickens Waga (21), Jeff Opiyo (23) and Elvis Ogeda (21) were shot at the Kariobangi South roundabout bridge on January 9 with police describing them as gangsters.
Following the shootings, the families of the three rejected the police version of events, with Dickens Waga’s father saying he could not understand how his son ended up dying in the hands of police when he was about to report to the University of Nairobi where he's a student.
Through a post in the Facebook group Dandora CrimeFree which has 39,000 members, Hesy Wa Dandora has countered claiming that indeed, the three were criminals.
While telling off the press, Hessy argued that being a university student does not absolve one from engaging in criminal activities.
“The master planner of Garissa university attack that left over 100 students dead had just graduated as a law student from Nairobi University and son of a chief,” argued Hesy citing the 2015 attack on the Garissa University College which left 148 dead.
Relatives of the three young men are demanding to know who was robbed by the suspects before police intervened.
In Kariobangi, witnesses were hesitant to volunteer information regarding the shooting incident but those who spoke said there was no room to confirm who was shooting as the incident happened fast.
