The official Twitter account of the Presidential Strategic Communications Unit (PSCU) caused a stir on social media on Tuesday morning.
A twitter post on the account criticised city lawyer Donald Kipkorir after he shared sentiments on social media complaining about the fading status of Karen area, Nairobi.
The tweet that has since been deleted branded the flamboyant lawyer a slay queen lawyer and a socialite lawyer before tagging pro Jubilee party lawyer Ahmed Nasir, Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen and Director Digital in the office of the President Dennis Itumbi.
Lawyer Donald Kipkorir was complaining about the encroachment of Karen area by matatu’s, second hand clothes, and kiosks.
Drama ensued when one social media user reacted to Kipkorir’s post giving a historical account of the posh Karen area. PSCU screenshot this reply and shared on their official Twitter handle topping it with a sensationalized caption:
The post elicited mixed reactions from Kenyans as with most showing displeasure with how the official account is being handled:
The reactions compelled PSCU to remove the tweet and post a rejoinder apology post:
We apologize for a tweet that appeared on our timeline. We agree it was inappropriate. It has been deleted. Thanks for pointing it out. Administrative action has been taken.
