Celebrated Kenyan singer Kevin Waire alias Wyre has shared his thoughts on the bubbling beef between rapper King Kaka and boy band Sauti Sol.
Wyre the love child stated that he does not agree with King Kakas sentiments that developed artists need to nurture others as a sign of growth.
“I wouldn’t agree with King Kaka’s sentiments. A veteran artiste helping other artistes is an individual choice to make.
“ If one feels he or she is in a position to help then its cool and if an individual feels not to, then there is no problem with that,” said Wyre.
He added that the decision on such an undertaking was an expensive matter and the choice rested with an individual who wanted to.
“This is because its a very very expensive venture, it needs a lot of money and requires time and patience. You have to pay for their videos, audios, song writing and stuff that comes with that line.
“And where does all that money come from? It’s even harder when yourself you are an artiste because you also need to invest in your work as well as those under you,” explained the love child.
The beef between Kinga Kaka and Sauti Sol started after the rapper said that despite the successes that the band had enjoyed across continents they had not natured anyone.
King Kaka had argued that the real success was showing others the ropes after leading the way.
In a rejoinder, Sauti Sol had brushed off Kaka’s statements as baseless and added that they had proposed the Studio Mashinani project which they said was stolen from them.
