Just months into office, singer turned politician Charles Kanyi Njagua AKA Jaguar has shown a side of him many did not know.
The Starehe MP, viewed by many as a cool head seems to be following in the footsteps of Nairobi and Kiambu Governors Mike Sonko and Ferdinand Waititu.
During Sonko’s tenure as Makadara MP, he was known for bulldozing through problems, at one time punching a wall that had been illegally constructed. As for Waititu, he got involved in running battles with police and brought down fences and buildings when he was MP for Embakasi.
On October 5th, Jaguar joined residents of Nyayo market in demolishing a wall built by a private developer. According to the MP, the wall was illegally constructed, blocking a road.
He wrote:
Today I Led residents of Nyayo market in demolishing an illegal wall being built by a private developer. The wall is currently blocking Jadongo road.
In my tenure there will be no land grabbing in Starehe. Constituency Land will remain protected and will only be acquired through legal means.
Jaguar’s actions elicited reactions from netizens:
