Self-proclaimed King of Rap, Collins ‘Collo’ Majale is a changed man, this is according to his wife Phoebe Ida Ayaya-Majale.
Speaking to Parents Magazine, Phoebe stated that Kenyans know little about their tribulations before Collo made a u-turn and rode high with his Bazokizo anthem.
How they met:
Phoebe revealed that she met collo when she was undergoing a rough patch in her life after losing her mother.
She said that her death made her relapse to her ‘party girl’ lifestyle and she was introduced by her friends to Collo while she was nursing a hangover.
Issues:
They hit off immediately and she moved in with him but were soon embroiled in unending arguments over Collo’s lifestyle as a rapper with Klepto.
She added that the arguments got ugly and she feared that the tabloids would splash his indiscretions soon enough.

With time Phoebe could not take it anymore, packed her bags and moved back to her late father’s house with her daughter Tawala in tow.
Dad:
According to Phoebe her breakup at that time was godsend and her father jubilated. This was because he had not approved of Collo’s relationship with her.
“He wasn’t exactly Collo’s fan. He was also not convinced Collo deserved his daughter – an advocate of the High Court of Kenya!” Said Phoebe.
Moving Back:
Collo’s daughter however prodded her for weeks wanting to know where Collo was and she moved back to her matrimonial home. There, they lived like strangers and didn’t talk to each other for weeks.
Salvation:
By coincidence, her sister in law bought a book, The Power of a Praying Wife! Which she read and it began as the turning point in their life to date. She made a choice to introduce Collo to church.

He could hear none of it and it took a lot of convincing to just to make him agree to go to church.
Rock bottom:
Soon after he agreed to go to church, Collo was fired after he lost a company laptop where he worked. Everything from there went south; their finances dried up, they went up in debt and without food.
“Before then, we had never had a problem with money. We had everything and extras, including the money! In a flash it was gone and we found ourselves in debt...

“We couldn’t hide from each other because we were all we had. We were stripped before each other. None of our friends and family members knew how deep our situation was,” she added.
Phoebe added that when she now looks back at those times she is grateful at the man, father and husband Collo has turned out to be, “seeing the man he has now become is one of the reasons I judge God faithful.”

Collo made a name for himself in the hip hop group Kleptomaniax alongside Roba and Nyashinski before giving his life to Christ.
