Mrs Kenya 2016-17 Praxedes Shivachi was crowned Mrs Universe Africa at the finals gala held in Durban, South Africa last weekend.
“I am very proud to be Mrs Universe Africa, I’m humbled and it’s also a big challenge to carry the crown and be involved in addressing the problems African children are facing,” she said.
The pageant’s theme is standing against violence targeted at children and women with the slogan ‘Know My Presence, Hear My Voice’.
Praxedes has been at the forefront of fighting for children rights.
