Centum Investment CEO James Mworia, one of Kenya’s best paid corporate managers, has come out to clear the air on claims that this year he is earning Sh 31.3 million per month which is Sh 375million annually. In a response to the news about his salary, the CEO clarified that that was the remuneration for the entire management.
The amount that the 39-year-old takes home is particularly unique owing to the fact that his salary is just Sh 2 million which is only a fraction of what he takes home after receiving his compensations.
The amount is mainly compensation he receives from the firm as performance bonuses.
Last year, Centum topped the list with Kenya’s highest paid corporate CEO. Equity Bank CEO James Mwangi was second with a monthly salary of Sh 15.9 million to Centum’s Mworia who earned Sh 16.7 million. Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore was third taking home Sh 10.7 million per month. EABL and KCB closed the top five corporates with the best paid directors at Sh 6.3 million and Sh. 5.3 million respectively.
