A storm is brewing in Kitui after a newly elected Member of Parliament took on Governor Charity Ngilu for allegedly calling on her supporters to strip Jubilee supporters.
In an undated video circulating online, Kitui East MP Nimrod Mbithuka Mbai warns Governor Ngilu that her alleged calls for the stripping and rape of women wearing Jubilee t-shirts could befall her.
"Niliskia akisema ati vijana wakionekana na t-shirt ya Jubilee itolewe, mama akionenekana amevaa t-shirt ya Jubilee arepiwe, Kwani Ngilu yeye mwenyewe hawezi repiwa?” Said Mbai.
Mbai while speaking to a packed crowd accused Governor Ngilu of being intolerant to Jubilee supporters in the area.
The legislator was elected on a Jubilee ticket. He had earlier been a security aide attached to the former Parliament Leader of Minority, Francis Nyenze.
The ex-police officer also served as the chief officer in charge Agriculture, livestock and Fisheries Development in Machakos County prior to his election to parliament.
