See You Again has managed to topple Psy's Gangnam Style 5-year reign after amassing a massive 2,902,764,763 views as of July 12th 2017.
Responding to the news, Puth took to twitter where he celebrated the milestone and posted, "I joined YouTube in 2007 hoping to make a video that would reach 10,000 views…Just heard about See You Again... Wow," wrote Puth.
See you Again was sang by the duo for the action movie Fast and Furious 7 and became a remarkable tribute to the movie’s star Paul Walker who died in a car accident before the film was completed.
Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth's have reportedly earned over Sh290 million ($2.9m) on YouTube alone.
Psy's Gangnam Style, however still comes second with 2,894,426,475 views. It had enjoyed the exclusive bragging rights t the top before See you Again quickly reached 1 billion views in a span of six months.
Gangnam style had at the peak of its popularity forced YouTube to rewrite its code after it exceeded the maximum possible number of views of 2.1 billion.
