After he was released from following an arrest by the government last weekend, Bongo star Nay wa Mitego has revealed why he released a song that has been viewed by some as anti-establishment.
“I was simply singing a song whose lyrics reflect the current happenings in our government and I was not in any way antagonising the government,” Nay wa Mitego said.
The song, Wapo, has lyrics which insinuate that there are leaders in government who abuse drugs, an issue that has had many Tanzanian artistes arrested over the last one month.
The song also talks of leaders operating with forged education papers.
